The red clay

The brick factories in Kerala are numerous and often many of them are only in an area of 1 km. The work in these factories is hard, due to the often extreme climatic conditions. The working period of the bricks, runs from October until May, halting production in the monsoon season, then the rainy season. Depending on the size of factories, there are more or fewer workers, who alternate in working the land that would later become, through several steps, a brick. Most of the workers has very poor, and often based outside the state of Kerala.
